Sapphire Ring

I found this lovely square cut yellow sapphire a little time ago and had the time recently to cast it into a square of pure silver.  The yellow colour in sapphires comes from iron and titanium and can range from light lemon into orange and gold.  

Sapphire is the birthstone for September and yellow ones are said to bring protection to the wearer.

I mounted mine next to a pure silver post and secured them to a hand hammered sterling silver band
